Client’s Wish List:

This retired couple wanted to convert the segregated main floor of a home built in the 1986 into a trendy-traditional, open-concept living space. In the process creating functionality and aesthetic that they can enjoy in the present but accommodate any family regardless of where they are in a lifecycle—if they decide to sell down the road. A place to host larger groups like family or friends yet compact enough to suit their one-on-one life. A new layout that takes full advantage of the sun pouring into their home and provides better access to outdoor spaces and their spectacular park-like setting.

Transformative Details:

In the enhanced sun-filled layout we created a Mediaroom off the Kitchen—perfect for keeping an eye on little people while preparing dinner, watching a sports event as a group, or simply getting caught up in your daily news while having your morning coffee. This revised kickback room spills over to the Livingroom with fireplace and continuous transfer spaces to the Front Foyer and Dining Room at the front of the house. The perfect home for a gathering of large groups with optimal ways of access from room to room. Wide-planked hardwood installed throughout emphasizes the openness and flow from room to room.

Features:

Energy efficiency, advanced lighting to minimize energy consumption and maximize functionality. A work island/table feature creates the perfect area for relaxed dining and focal point to the hub of the home.
