Client’s Wish List:

Take an under-loved 3,000 square-foot, corner-lot, Victorian home and transition it to accommodate a young-family lifestyle without losing its old-world charm. Introduce open-concept living spaces where segregated rooms exist. Provide proper storage and closet space. Update Kitchen and Baths while still respecting the mid 1800’s detailing.

Transformative Details:

Blowing out expansive sections of walls and replacing them with grand curved arches with detailing that integrates with ornate crown mouldings and baseboards. Featuring the staircase at the main entrance by centring on a spectacular archway from the Living Room. Assimilating the main entry crush space with the living area giving the illusion of much larger spaces. Creating thicker walls to conceal heating and cooling ductwork. Developing a side entrance off the parking pad that is equally as grand as the main entrance of the home. Developing a side entrance for the home with a similar grandeur as the main entrance.

Features:

Updated HVAC from radiant heat to forced air making the home more energy efficient advanced lighting technologies, and sensitivity to the architectural detailing that preserves the past while bringing the home into the present.
